In the early 1960's, I was given a small transistor radio as a Christmas gift.  I would hide it under my pillow at night so I could stay up past curfew and listen to it, soon discovering Red Wings hockey games.  It was my first exposure to hockey but I was totally hooked within just a few games.  One of my greatest thrills was convincing my Dad to take me to a game, and in 1965 I got to see Gordie Howe and Ted Lindsay skate together when Lindsay came back to the Wings for his last season, in '64-65.

I spaced one, and have now lost track of who sent me the 1996 Playoff Corporation, Steve Yzerman, One on One Hockey Challenge, Playoff game card.  Please, stand up and be counted, I'd love to give proper thanks!!!  I might have zoned out on this one, but you know who you are, so if you don't want the recognition, that's okay, but you STILL ROCK !!!  thanks!

Thanks to John Stamper for a sweet, 1992 O-Pee-Chee reproduction of Marcel Dionne's 71-72 rookie card.  When I think back, I still harbor ill feelings for Mr. Dionne wanting out of Detroit and bolting for LA, at the time, signing the richest hockey deal ever.  ...perhaps it's time to get over it, Dionne never won a cup, and the Wings have ELEVEN and still counting!!!
